In a surge of information, recently unsealed court documents in New York have put the Jeffrey Epstein case back in the spotlight. The financier, accused of trafficking and sexually abusing minors, had already been tried in 2008, but the new set of documents sheds light on a network of celebrities linked to his activities. The news has generated trends on social media and sparked speculation about the involvement of prominent figures in American politics and entertainment.

Jeffrey Epstein, a man who used his power for abuse
Jeffrey Epstein, a tycoon who controlled some of the world’s largest banks in the 1990s and 2000s, was convicted in 2019 after being accused of abusing minors at sex parties on his property, Little Saint-James Island. His right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, was arrested and sentenced in 2022 for her role in the tycoon’s shady dealings.
Among the celebrity names mentioned in the documents are Woody Allen, David Blaine, and Tommy Mottola, as well as prominent figures such as Prince Andrew, Stephen Hawking, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Naomi Campbell, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton, and the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Amid the swirling information, a contradiction emerges in the allegations. While some documents suggest that figures like Trump and Jackson were present at meetings with Epstein but did not commit sexual abuse, the list of people linked to the dark events continues to grow.

Michael Jackson exonerated
The documents also refute a negative myth that surrounded Michael Jackson for decades. Despite appearing on the list of implicated names, it is maintained that the King of Pop never had contact with or received massages from underage girls. His presence at Epstein’s residences is more closely related to meetings to discuss financial matters, according to reports.
Virginia Giuffre, one of the plaintiffs who accused Epstein of abusing her in various locations, mentioned Michael Jackson in her testimony. However, Giuffre claimed that the artist refused to participate in the alleged “private parties” with minors, helping to clear his image of the persistent accusations of pedophilia.

The list of names continues to grow
The disclosure of more than 900 pages of documents, lifted by Judge Loretta Preska, has raised eyebrows by including names of celebrities from diverse sectors, such as George Lucas, Marvin Minsky, Alan Dershowitz, David Copperfield, Jean Luc Brunel, Leslie Wexner, Tom Pritzker, Bill Richardson, Al Gore, and Stephen Hawking, among others.
It’s crucial to note that the presence of these names in the documents doesn’t automatically imply that they committed crimes or solicited services from minors. Some could have been linked to the case through coincidences at events or carpools, with no evidence of their involvement in Epstein’s crimes.
The Epstein case continues to generate controversy and raises questions about the web of connections that allowed his illicit activities to continue for years. As information unfolds, the scandal continues to shake the public sphere and rekindle the debate about justice in cases of sexual abuse and child trafficking.
