A 14-year-old boy confessed to murdering his parents and his three-year-old brother and hiding their bodies in a cistern in the backyard of his home in the city of Itaperuna, in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to O Globo, the young man went to a police station on Tuesday with his grandmother to report his family’s alleged disappearance. He said that his parents, Antônio Carlos Teixeira, 45, and Inaila Teixeira, 37, took his brother to the hospital after he choked on a piece of glass and did not return
The police found no hospital records and ordered a search of the home. The bodies were found in the cistern.
” The amount of blood was incompatible with the domestic accident he’d told us about. After we found the body, he confessed to the crime. He said he shot the father and mother in the head; the brother in the neck. We asked him why he’d killed the child, and he said it was to spare him the suffering of losing his parents ,” said Commissioner Carlos Augusto Guimarães.
The commissioner is working on two lines of investigation. The first concerns a virtual relationship the teenager had with a 15-year-old girl in the state of Mato Grosso. She allegedly gave him an ultimatum, forcing him to meet. When his parents forbade him to travel, the teenager allegedly decided to murder them.
Another line suggests a possible financial interest, as he searched online for ways to collect the Service Time Guarantee Fund, a labor right in Brazil that the father received.
Apparently, the young man waited for his family to fall asleep and used his father’s gun. After killing them, he allegedly cleaned the scene with cleaning products and dragged the bodies to the cistern.
He was very spontaneous in recounting how he committed the crimes. He’s a cold-blooded young man, without remorse. We asked him if he regretted it, and he said no, that he would do it all over again. His answers were quick, and he constantly reaffirmed his manhood. He had an air of psychopathy about him. He may have premeditated everything or he may be a very intelligent young man ,” Guimarães emphasized.
